I hope the reader will find this book a fun trip, with many interesting tales of the different stories, woven together to create an interesting trip back and forth through time's of an Iowa farm kid, and how that led him to try to do things that led to many great life adventures! His story begins with the annulment of his parents, before he was even born, How he was then taken to an Iowa farm in Sac County, near a town named Ode-Bolt, where he was raised by his mother and Grandparent's. His mother's decision to strike out on her own, then puts him into Orphanages, before she is able to take him back. He then spends his school year with his mother, and his summers with his Grandparent's on their Iowa farm, leading to his remembering Iowa Days! Fast forward to just before World War II, and his mother falls in love with a future step father Lester James, follow's him out to Oregon to be near him at his boot camp, then on to Seattle where they are married, and back to Omaha for an adoption, which made his last name, James! World War II see's mother, son, and Aunt Inis in a second story apartment, while new father, Les, is in South Africa, and then Italy, where he sustains multiple wounds, and suffers the loss of most of his left leg. But young David gets to spend his summers on the farm. Life then takes them all to Brigham City Utah, where Les is sent foe Orthopedic recovery, then briefly back to Omaha, before being transferred to Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco, for a prosthetic leg and release from the service.They wind up living in Richmond California, and settle there for the rest of the story, but have many adventurous trips, which often brings them back to Iowa, their trip with Grandparent's, to New York, Minnesota, and other adventures.All this leading to sailing sloops in the San Francisco Bay, Flying airplanes, including a historic 1929 Travel Air Bi plane, restoring old cars. He spends a summer building a cabin at Lake Tahoe with his parents and grandparent's. He goes back to Jr. College, starts meeting Movie stars, and goes back to stay in the cabin the next summer for a summer job, which expands his talents and finds a life long mentor in addition to his father, mother, and grandfather!
